Alex - Cafe next to the Alster

The Alex belongs to a nationwide chain of Cafes and Bars. It is placed directly in the center of Hamburg with a nice view to the Binnenalster. On warmer days it is also possible to sit outside and watch sailing ships on the Alster.
Typically on the weekends this place is really crowded and you can see a lot of stylish people here. But you should plan to wait a couple of minutes until a table is free.
In the afternoon you can eat a lot of different tasty cakes. Coffee you can get in all kind of variations. If you are hungrier I can recommend the baguettes baked with cheese.
Prices are okay. But the atmosphere is not really relaxing. Often it is just too loud inside because of the high amount of people. But if you are already downtown and you only want to have a snack, the Alex is a good address.
